Brokeback Mountain (2005) Yet Brokeback Mountain is ultimately not about sex (there is very little of it in the film) but about love: love stumbled into, love thwarted, love held sorrowfully in the heart.

Capote (2005) In November, 1959, Truman Capote, the author of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and a favorite figure in what is soon to be known as the Jet Set, reads an article on a back page of the New York Times. It tells of the murders of four members of a well-known farm family, which catches Capote's eye. It presents an opportunity, he believes, to test hislong-held theory that, in the hands of the right writer, non-fiction can be as compelling as fiction. What impact have the murders had on that tiny town on the wind-swept plains?

THE LARAMIE PROJECT (2002) This HBO film started life as a stage play that was created by the Tectonic Theater Project of NYC as a way to document what happened in Laramie, WY after the death of Matthew Shephard. While there have been thousands of gay bashings in the world, this one drew the attention of the media on Laramie, WY - some crass people actually labeling the town as the "hate capital of the world". The theater project went to Laramie armed with video cameras, tape recorders and an open mind, in an attempt to tell the world what was really happening there.
